Working Together!

Hey Everybody
Hope everyone is having a good last week of summer or a great first week of school...We are having better luck this week finding people to teach and people that want to listen...

Two Great things that happened this week...
On Friday We had a special conference with President Robinson and all of the missionaries and Local Leaders of Puerto Penasco...we were 12 missionaries and about another 15 Local Leaders...It was quite the turnout...Just a good example of how ready everyone is to work together in the Work of Salvation...We started at 9 in the morning and ended at about 5 in the afternoon..with 1 hour lunch...It was amazing...My companion and I both took about 45 minutes to introduce some new Ideas about how we can work more closely together while teaching the New Converts...It was really great...It was probably the longest time I have had to teach the Leaders including Branch and District Preside

ncies....We ended there feeling really edified...Sunday came and we were in Branch Counsel and we were suprised and grateful that almost all of the ideas we came up with were being put into practice in that Counsel...It was excellant! We hope to see a better retention of new members and a better reactivation in the next months...

Also Last week during my Studies I put alot more focus on the Atonement of Jesus Christ...and I tried to understand it a little more...One Elder Let me borrow a book named the Infinite Atonement and so using the Scriptures and a few other books I went to work...trying to understand a little bit more about a concept that I testify of lots of times every day...And Sunday came and tried to focus on the things I had been studying...And I cant really describe the feelings I felt...But it was the most amazing sweet spirit I have felt during the Sacrament in All of my life...I still dont know everything about the Atonement but through constant study I have been converted a little more and have understood a little more of the Love of Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father...I testify that Jesus Christ did die and suffer all of the pains, sufferings and sins of the World and He did Rise the Third day triumphantly over death...I have always believed in Jesus Christ but I am learning more who He is and what it has to do with me....I Love it...

Here are a few experiences that I had this week...Continue to study the scriptures daily and have Family home Evening

Great Converts!

Hey everyone...

This week was a good week....haha we are still getting back everyday completely exhausted which is a good thing...My companion heard from one of his friends that if it takes a missionary more that 5 minutes to go to sleep at night he/she didnt work hard enought...and we are going to sleep in about 2 or 3 minutes haha...So we are definitely working...:)

I have been super impressed with our wonderful converts or people that dont have very long as members of the Church here in the mission...especially here in Puerto Penasco...Our Assistent Branch Mission Leader named Brother Martinez...was Baptized May 2 and we were in one of our meetings talking about some of our investigators that needed a ride for Church and meanwhile the rest of the Brothers were talking about who lives closer and stuff the Brother Martinez just stepped up and said I will do it...Just a positive willing attitude I love it...

Omar our convert of 3 weeks has been sharing scriptures and pamphlets at the Rehab Center for people with addictions..And it sounds like he is gaining quite a crowd up their that want to come to church after they are released...He has also asked the Branch President for Books of Mormon to share with those there...Its exactly the kind of attitude I like to see in a newly Baptized Member of the Church...

Also our Convert In Agua Prieta Maria del Carmen...Entered into the temple the past Saturday to do Baptisms for the Dead for a bunch of her family members...I just couldnt believe it the drastic transformation that can happen in the life of a person in weeks and months following their baptism....

We have some great people coming to the Church and having a change of heart and have felt the wonderful love of our Heavenly Father through the Book of Mormon, have been baptized and then really progressed into Strong Members of the Church.....

Sister Isabel and her Visiting teaching partner didn't care about the Heat and the Humidity and Fulfilled their calling and much much more with visiting all of their friends every day this week and sharing the Gospel....Love them!

Hot Humid Days...

Hello Everyone...
This week has been a little bit harder...We spent the week trying to contact more people...We kind of felt like Missionaries in the U.S. knocking so many doors haha....it was crazy...It also got up to 83% humidity which makes it feel like 150 degrees Farenheit...Alot of people are trying to get in last minute vacations in so not a lot of people were in their house...So this week has been a little harder and we arrived everynight just physically spent and soaking wet haha I have never been so tired in my life... But were able to find a few that we are giving some more follow up this week....

We also went to Hermosillo for Leadership Meetings....Everytime we have these meetings I am more and more convinced that every leader of the Church is called and assigned by God...They might not be perfect people although some are pretty close...But these people have a special job to do here on earth in the Work of Salvation...Our meetings were both motivating and edifying...I love them! So we have many more changes that we are excited to see put into place...

I dont have a ton of time today...But I hope everything is going well for everyone...

Calling the Fire Fighters

Hey Everyone ....
We have had another great week...We had transfers and 80% of the mission had changes hahaha kind of crazy...Elder Bernal and I are part of the 20% that didnt have transfers so we are here for another 6 weeks...We are super excited!!! Today we are recieving 8 missionaries...so this week will be a little bit of a struggle for our missionaries trying to get to know their new areas....

We had another baptism of a girl named Stephany on Saturday...It was another great experience....Saturday Morning we went to the church to check on the baptism font and to clean up a little bit...and we were trying to get water to mop and so we opened up the faucet and nothing came out...haha For some reason we didnt have any water at the church...haha We thought it was a sign that we should have our baptisms in the Ocean but...after a few phone calls we found out how we could get water in the font....So after a quick call to the local fire department we had the required 8,000 liters of water to fill the font....It was quite the experience but everything turned out alright....

Yesterday was a great day...I was able to call Maria del Carmen from Agua Prieta last night to check up on how she is doing...It was a fantastic experience....she told me that she was just finishing up the Book of Mormon for the 2nd time and she also finished the Book ¨Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith¨ which she really liked....She also has been preparing to go to the temple on the 15th of August...I feel so grateful to have found her in Agua Prieta and to be an instrument in Gods Hands to share with her the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to watch her be baptized almost 4 months ago....She is progressing really well...she is AMAZING!

Here is my week summarized haha I hope all of you had a great week
Love you guys

A Transfer of Changes....

Hello Everyone...
I am glad to see that everyone is having a great summer vacation....
This past week has been crazy...and we are starting the last week of transfers....Which is crazy...this month and a half has gone by so quick...We have implimented so many different rules and things and we have seen a difference in the missionary work here specifically in Puerto Penasco...All of our missionaries here have been really good with all of the changes and we are even more excited for the next transfer....

This week we had 2 more baptisms of Ofelia and her daughter Rosa...I talked a little bit about Ofelia about 3 weeks or so...Ofelia is amazing..About a year ago the missionaries stopped passing by Ofelias house because she was not progressing....and we passed by 4 weeks ago or so and began to teach her again...she told us that in the time when the missionaries werent passing by her husband died and she says it was and still is super hard for her...and even when the missionaries werent passing by she was reading the Book of Mormon to feel better when she was feeling sad...So we found her again repassed through the Mission Lessons and she has been coming to church ever since with all of her kids...She also has started to read the Book of Mormon with her kids everynight... So it was an amazing opportunity to witness her baptism...We hope that in the following weeks the rest of the children will be able to be baptized....

I am a little short on time...But I just have to say how cool it is to have such great unity in the companionship...I learned in this transfer this lesson...That if only one of the companions is doing what he should and is focusing on what he should...they will only have half of the success....but when both of the companions have the same purpose and focus and are obedient you can really see miracles happen everyday...Just a little marriage advice for anyone who needs it...

Love you all

White Weekend and Yellow Shirts...

Hello Everyone...
Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer vacation....
This week was wonderful...we had 3 baptisms on Saturday...Omar was baptized and A sister called Berenice and her daughter Brenda...

Omar has been progressing for a long time and was 100% ready to be baptized...In our time with him he has read the Doctrine and Covenants and Half of the Book of Mormon... and is going to autosufficiency classes at the church...His situation was the ideal situaction of missionary work with the members...The sister you see in the picture is the sister that first gave us the reference and she was present in every one of our visits with Omar...She was there at the beginning, during the lessons, during his Baptism, and will be there to help him feel more comfortable at church...

Berenice and Brenda are two investigators that the Hermana Wood was teaching before she and her companion left...Berenice is married to a member and they live super far away from the church the truth is that they dont live in the area of anyone...so the Hermana Wood asked if you would continue teaching them....They both have tons of friend in the church and feel really apart of the Branch...Miguel the son of Berenice did not get baptized but he will continue with the missionaries while he attends the University in Baja California...

These are really great people...I cant wait to see their progression in the church and I cant wait to see them attend the temple in 1 year...So we had a great weekend in white...

This week has been a hard battle with the wind...it is getting pretty hard to pedal on the bikes with the strong winds from the sea...also with lots of wind and so much sand my shirts are getting a little more yellower and more stained haha kind of funny/sad

We continue finding more people to teach and more people that want to progress in the Gospel of Jesus Christ....

Thanks so much for your love and support....Love You all
