Hard Lessons of the Mission

Hello Everyone....
Hope everyone is doing really well...

This week went really well...I wrote last week that this week we would put our emphasis on Going to Church...so we did we taught a bunch of people investigators and members....We worked super hard...Saturday we went and checked all of our Investigators to see if they were going to come to church everyone was super excited and promised that they would come to church....(This was saturday night) Sunday morning we were expecting a lot of people at church and at 8:00 we were at the door of the Church waiting...and No one came...none of our investigators came to church...it was horrible...I felt really bad...and We were pretty dissapointed with everyone...Elder Dipko and I were talking about it after and I told him that I cannot believe no one came to church...Elder Dipko was a little frustrated also...But then I thought of something super Interesting...that it is the Same with our Heavenly Father...We have been given this Gospel to live and then if we live it we have a promise that we can live with our Families forever....and so we make promises with our Heavenly Father...and when we are tested we fall...we fall all the time over and over....we keep breaking commandments and then we repent and keep following the path until we fall again...Heavenly Father is so Patient...It is one attribute I am trying to have with our investigators.... This was quite the humbling experience also...

...But we still had a good week and we met a lot of new people to teach so we are going to try a couple of new things this week...to see if we can bring more People to Church on Sunday...

I am running out of time but before I end I have to share an experience that we had while on exchanges this week...We went to teach one of our investigators about Prayer....and it was such a great experience when the spirit could testify through my companion and I..about the importance of Prayer...WIth the help of the Spirit we were able to make Prayer more aplicable to him...We asked our investigator if he could say the Closing prayer and he accepted and it is always amazing to hear a person pray for the first time it is something very sacred to me those experiences but with this Hermano you could really sense him trying to figure out who his Heavenly Father is and to figure out if he really answers prayers...By the end we were all crying...It was a great experience...

Ok thanks for everything sorry for such a short letter...hope you all have a great week....

Lost and Found

Hola Everybody...we have had such a great week this week...
This week was the last week of the Iniciative He is the Gift....and this week especially we have found so many new people to teach which is really great...

We have been working so hard these couple of weeks trying to find a family (specifically) that we can teach and that we can help....and on Saturday we found one YAY! We had a great turn out for church yesterday too with our investigators....But we were missing some so thats where we will put our emphasis this week to try and get everyone to come to church....We have been so blessed...We really have...and I know it is because we are truly trying our hardest in every aspect of the work....

I was also able to do Companion Exchanges with Elder Bake...haha it was super fun to teach and work along side one of my Friends from Weiser/Payette Area...I learned a lot from him and we are planning on doing another exchange in 2 weeks haha And yes I filled him in on all of the gossip from 6 months ago haha....

One quick funny story...so as all of you know one of the Goals people set the most for New Years is excercise and weight loss haha...ok and in Hermosillo there are tamale trucks that go around the streets honking their horns and announing on an intercom "Tamales...Tamales for 6 pesos"...and this week we heard a different announcement..."Tamales...Light Tamales for people who are on Diets" hahaha kind of a funny story haha...Hope all of your goals are going well by the way!

Love you all

Trabajo es el Secreto (Work is the Secret)

Hello Everyone!

This week has gone by super quick...We have worked so much this week haha We have been walking and teaching alot...haha We have been really blessed this week in every aspect...

Kind of funny a week ago the weather was still pretty brisk but now we go down the streets sweating already haha and it is supposed to hit low 90s by the end of this week ughhh...haha from Fall type weather to summer in less then a week haha...

Last week I told you that we bought a Electric Shower head and I installed it on Monday night haha It feels so wonderful to have hot water...even if it is getting warmer outside...Kind of funny but I found a roll of black electrical tape in one of my suit cases haha I am definately my Fathers Son haha Attached you will find a picture of our new Regadera haha

Because of the Recent Transfers we had a Zone Meeting Wednesday where we introduced ourselves to our Zone...Elder Bake is my New Zone Leader which is pretty sweet...haha It was also fun to get to talk to him about all of the things he missed in back home...

This week we had a lot of luck finding people in their houses...because it was the last week of Vacations for most people and most of the people that we teach return to school and work this week...so I hope we can keep up working hard and finding our investigators in their houses...Haha one quick story about my Spanish...On Wednesday My comp challenged me to pray in English and I couldnt it was super weird...I guess after praying in only spanish for almost 5 months you start to forget how to pray in your native language haha...

We also had a great turnout for Sacrament meeting...especially for having it at 8 in the morning haha we were super excited....

I really feel that we did all that we possibly could this week...It feels really great to work and teach with the spirit...and actually say what I want to say in Spanish...haha

Thanks for all your support and your prayers...

The Cold Weather in Sunny Mexico

Hola Everyone.....
I hope everyone is entering this New Year with lots of new goals to excercise or to read the Book of Mormon or something Really Cool...haha

It has been an interesting week...We taught a lot of people this week...tons of new investigators It has been great to get to know more people in our area and start teaching more families...We are also still working on Contacting all of the References that we got through the Churchs iniciative He is the Gift...

We also spent some time with our Less Active Members this week...It was kind of cool we were visiting a less active family and They got quite the kick out of the size of my feet and my hands haha Even when we were leaving The Hermana called me Elder Pie Grande or Elder Big Foot haha and it was kind of cool at another house when the daughter prayed that Elder Dipko and I could stay another transfer so that we could spend a little more time with them....

We ate dinner with a less active member on New Years Eve of Ham and Potatoes o man was it good haha...It was kind of weird because no one was home on New Years Day...and I mean no one...not even members haha but we finally found a couple of families to share a thought to...
Also it was kind of cool we were walking down the street and we saw HERBIE...haha a white VW Bug with 53 painted on the sides and the front and back just like in the movie...

Also as I have mentioned before it is getting colder here and people say that it will be a lot colder in January...We actually saw our breath when we were walking to church...haha...Never would have thought that it would be cold in Mexico...haha...but We were able to buy a electric shower head today so we can have hot water YES!! Thanks Mom and Dad!!!

Also Elder Dipko and I are staying together for another transfer....which is super cool and I am super excited to see what we can do this transfer...

Have a great week!
